Description We are in search of a diligent Medical Assistant to become part of our healthcare team in Emeryville, California. In this role, you will be expected to provide exceptional customer service, handle various administrative tasks, and support patient care coordination in our healthcare facility. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in the NHS industry.Responsibilities: Deliver superior customer service to patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment Handle patient check-in and check-out procedures, including verifying patient demographics and updating insurance information as needed Manage incoming phone calls, answering routine questions, and forwarding complex inquiries to the appropriate personnel Schedule and audit patient appointments to ensure efficient operations Confirm commercial insurance eligibility and benefits for patients Facilitate authorizations for HMO and Medicare office visits Maintain the waiting area, keeping it tidy and well-stocked with reading materials and refreshments Carry out various other administrative and reception duties as required Utilize Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word to manage and process information effectively Assist in maintaining a high-volume, high-stress environment with patience and professionalism.If you are interested in this role please call us today at (510) 470-7450Requirements Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the Healthcare/NHS industry Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word is required Must possess a strong understanding of medical terminology Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for patient interaction Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational skills required for managing patient records Must have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion Previous experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred Must have a general understanding of medical laws, ethics, and regulations Ability to work effectively as part of a team and display a positive attitude Must possess strong attention to detail for recording and maintaining accurate patient information Experience with basic medical procedures like drawing blood, administering injections, and taking vitals is preferred Must possess a certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting from an accredited institution Must have current CPR certification.
