Description Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and providing excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll matters. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

Accurately process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payrolls for all employees.

Enter and verify payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, deductions, and other adjustments.

Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.

Prepare and file payroll tax returns, including quarterly and annual reports.

Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.

Employee Support:

Address and resolve employee questions and issues related to payroll in a timely and professional manner.

Provide assistance with payroll-related forms and documentation.

Record Maintenance:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation.

Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data.

Reporting:

Generate and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

Assist with year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of W-2 forms.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.

Participate in payroll system upgrades and implementations as needed.

Other Duties:

Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned by the Payroll Manager or HR Manager.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state environment.

Skills:

Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Strong understanding of payroll principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
