As an Engineering Manager within Communication Systems Engineering Department, you will provide technical direction and coordination of subordinate staff. You will focus your team to perform modeling and simulation to design and evaluate communication systems, signals, and signal processing algorithms. Your leadership will help shape the future of communication in national security space systems and the organization's capabilities.What You'll Be Doing- Lead a team of engineers to model and simulate industry-edge communication satellite systems, signals, and signal processing algorithm designs
- You will focus your team to perform high-fidelity simulations and high-performance computing to support impactful research, laboratory, and systems engineering for communication system designs
- Participate in your team's day-to-day modeling simulation activities and their task accomplishments
- Coordinate with customers representing US Space Force programs to solve their challenging engineering problems
- Hire, develop, and maintain a team of engineers
- Support personnel actions, career growth, performance improvement, and recognition
- Identify opportunities for additional, expanded, and new business
- Implement a work environment of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
- Provide insight into the organization's goals, with a focus on coordinating their implementation with subordinates, peers, and management
- Typically, electrical engineering degree from an accredited university with a focus in Communication Systems and Signals
- Strong technical experience developing high-fidelity software modeling and simulations of physical layer communication systems, signals, digital signal processing algorithms or related discipline
- Experience with modern software development practices for code design, documentation, programming, testing such as Agile, DevOps, Confluence, version control, or database management
- Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to work effectively with customers, peers, managers, and industry partners
- Demonstrated project management experience from project ideation, task planning, execution, and delivery of quality products
- Demonstrated effective team building, mentorship, and interpersonal skills toward engineers
- Ability to support occasional travel
- Current DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- Six or more years of engineering experience in software development and modeling simulation of communication systems, signals, and signal processing algorithms
- Experience programming in MATLAB, C/C, Python, or GNU Radio
- Experience with parallel or concurrent computing using Graphics Processing Units (GPU) or Central Processing Unit (CPU) clusters
- Experience with hands-on modeling simulation for systems engineering i.e. requirements analysis, development, decomposition, and verification
- Experience with GPS/GNSS signals and systems, wireless standards like 5G, or commercial technology
- Project lead, project engineering, or management experience
- Previous experience proposal or business development
- Leading changes to organizational capabilities, functions, or processes
- Experience with government or commercial space programs
- Advanced degree specializing in communication systems, signals, digital signal processing, or related discipline
- Current TS/SCI
