Accounts Payable Specialist (PART-TIME)

Description We are offering a PART-TIME (2 DAYS PER WEEK) short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in El Cajon, California. The role involves supporting the education industry through various accounting tasks, largely focusing on accounts payable duties. The work environment is fast-paced, and requires proficiency in various accounting software systems.This is a contract, PART-TIME, Accounts Payable opportunity in El Cajon. You will be working two days per week, supporting the Senior Accountant. Responsibilities: Assisting the senior accountant with accounts payable tasks including matching, batching, and coding invoices. Utilizing understanding of chart of accounts and different allocations for accurate processing. Maintaining vendor contacts information in Accufund and entering vendor bills into the system. Managing electronic filing of vendor invoices and overseeing the Accounts Payable email inbox. Processing weekly check runs and handling light accounts payable duties on a daily basis. Verifying and confirming daily meal logs against vendor invoice to properly bill vendors for meals serviced. Handling expense reimbursements and processing mileage, cash vouchers, petty cash. Using accounting software systems to maintain accurate records and perform accounting functions. Ensuring adherence to auditing procedures and use of automated clearing house (ACH). Utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for efficient processing of customer credit applications.Requirements Proficiency in Account Coding Knowledge and experience in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Proficiency in using Concur software Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Understanding and experience in executing Accounting Functions Expertise in managing Accounts Payable (AP) Familiarity with Accrual Accounting principles Experience in Auditing Understanding of Automated Clearing House (ACH) operations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising discretion.
