Provides leadership and administrative support in operations, budget planning, and high-cost pharmacy product purchases. Ensures optimal provision and coordination of services and resources and oversees implementation of patient medication safety strategies. Ensures utilization of best practice clinical programs and cost savings initiatives to operations and standardizes processes where appropriate.Job Description :EDUCATION:
Doctorate: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
PHARMD-Licensed Pharmacist
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
12 years recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Possesses knowledge and has expertise in all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations including budgeting, current laws and regulation, basic clinical skills, and being abreast of new developments in drug therapy, technology and current healthcare issues.
Demonstrated ability in healthcare management with experience in management and integration of multiple entities; budget preparation and planning for multiple facilities; development and monitoring of staff productivity systems and quality improvement and establishment of quality standards.
Demonstrated success in major project coordination and implementation of successful best practice clinical programs and cost containment initiatives.
Requires a basic working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards including National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), The Joint Commission (TJC), Title XXII, United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
