Accountant/Bookkeeper

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a diligent Accountant to join our team in Davis, California. The role will focus on managing multi-entity accounting, rental management, and various financial aspects for real estate development projects. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple entities associated with real estate development projects. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for each entity. Oversee all financial aspects related to rental properties, including rent collection, expense tracking, and lease agreements. Prepare monthly rental income reports and analyze variances to forecast future revenue streams. Conduct regular financial analysis to evaluate the performance of real estate investments and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to real estate accounting and taxation. Prepare and file tax returns, including property taxes, sales taxes, and income taxes, for all relevant entities. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes for individual projects and overall business operations. Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and resolve any accounting or reporting issues. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation and standardization. Implement best practices for financial record-keeping, reporting, and internal controls to mitigate risks and enhance accuracy. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) Deep understanding of Accounting Functions Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Auditing skills Familiarity with Budget Processes Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accountant role or similar Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
