Product Design Engineer -ThermalThe Thermal team is seeking a world-class Thermal Engineer to play a key role in the Definition and Design of products. The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure that, from initial concept to design fruition, all thermal objectives are met or surpassed in order to optimize the user experience of customers.The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the fundamental physics associated with heat and fluid flow and the ability to apply this understanding to complex design problems. A high-level of modeling expertise is required, as is the ability to effectively convey key conclusions through illustrative post processing. The ability to clearly communicate technically complex material within cross-functional design teams is a must, as is the ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment.

Key Qualifications:• Deep technical and functional expertise in:• conduction, convection (passive and active), and radiation• numeric modeling techniques and concepts (convergence, discretization, and meshing)• A thorough understanding of: o heat sinks• heat pipes and vapor chambers• fans, blowers, and nontraditional air mover’s o aero-acoustics• CAD tools• Optimization techniques• reduced order modeling approaches• scripting languages (perl, tcl, etc.)• MATLAB or equivalent toolkit• flow and thermal measurement techniques • materials and manufacturing processes
