The Sony Pictures Television Research Strategy & Analysis team is looking for a strong leader to join our team as Senior Manager, Social Analytics & Insights. The world’s largest independent studio, Sony Pictures Television, produces original content for linear networks and digital platforms. Our series – from dramas like THE NIGHT AGENT, THE LAST OF US, and THE BOYS, to comedies like TWISTED METAL and COBRA KAI, to unscripted series like JEOPARDY!, WHEEL OF FORTUNE, and AMERICAN IDOL – are beloved by our fans and customers worldwide.The SPT Research, Strategy & Analysis team is looking for an expert social analytics & insights leader to support across SPT titles and campaigns. The Senior Manager will utilize a varied suite of social analytics tools to monitor and report on social volume and conversation around our series and marketing campaigns and to derive actionable insights from social conversation and data. The Senior Manager, Social Analytics & Insights is a leadership role reporting to the VP Research, Strategy & Analysis.Responsibilities:Title/Brand & Campaign Tracking

Frame up and deliver regular cadence tracking of trailers/campaigns (i.e., 24 hour, 48 hour, etc.) and series (i.e., premiere, weekly, finale, etc.), across volume and sentiment

Lead reporting of social KPIs to support and inform marketing and PR strategies

Derive actionable insights into series elements, such as characters, talent, storylines, etc.

Identify organic and trending conversation drivers from SPT series or in broader landscape that could be applied to timely strategies

Partner across the team to combine social insights alongside primary, syndicated, and performance data on titles and genres

Produce and present insights deliverables on titles, including performance insight memos, season diagnostic studies, etc.

Coordinate with partners across Sony Pictures Entertainment and contribute to cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders

Landscape & Trends

Lead custom reporting on ad hoc topics relating to genres (i.e., YA, horror, game shows, etc.), cultural trends (i.e., Gen Z, Gen Alpha, etc.), or broader landscape (i.e., AI, cord cutting, etc.)

Monitor relevant industry and buyer trends via social analyses of sentiment and engagement

Coordinate with genre leads on analyses in support of relevant in-depth analyses to evaluate genre landscape & content trends

Generate strategic insights on genre and content trends to futureproof creative strategies

Enhance understanding of the competitive landscape

Communication

Design best-in-class deliverables that concisely and effectively communicate insights

Clearly articulate and translate complex, data-driven insights into crisp, actionable takeaways

Present findings to key stakeholders including senior leadership, development, current programming, marketing/PR, as well as to EPs, production companies, etc.

Team Leadership

Manage relationships with social vendors

Continuously evaluate suite of social vendors and assess new and emerging vendors and methodologies

Act as the internal expert on the full suite of tools & software, with responsibility to train and manage junior team members’ usage

Establish close, effective relationships with creative, marketing, and partners across Sony

Qualifications:

5-7 years of experience in social media analytics and insights research for media and entertainment

Expert understanding of social platform tools and best practices across Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, etc.

Experience with a range of social analytics software including Canvs, ListenFirst, Quid, Meltwater, Tubular, Talkwalker, etc.

Familiar with the TV landscape, including linear networks, digital platforms, and emerging media platforms, as well as of the TV production business model

Familiarity with or fluency with other research tools, including Nielsen ratings or primary research, and how to synthesize information across multiple methodologies to tell clear, concise stories with data

Proficiency with analytical tools like Tableau and in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word)

Strong interpersonal, consensus-building skills, with ability to communicate and achieve results across multiple stakeholders

Confident and self-motivated; able to own projects and execute them at a high level

Respectful, friendly, and approachable with a positive outlook and attitude

Exceptional organization and project management skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects

Collaborative and transparent with experience working in a matrixed, multicultural, and international organization

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the fields of Marketing, Communications, Economics, Psychology, Social Sciences, Data Science, or related fields
