Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist based in Costa Mesa, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of payroll processing for a large number of employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and company policies. Your key responsibilities will involve managing employee data, handling payroll inquiries, and processing termination checks.Responsibilities: Process bi-weekly payroll for a large number of employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Attend to payroll-related inquiries and requests from employees, providing prompt and accurate responses Extract and export time and attendance data for payroll processing, ensuring all hours and pay rates are accurately recorded Process termination checks for outgoing employees, adhering to all legal and company requirements Perform checks and balances to ensure that time and attendance data is accurately reflected in payroll calculations Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality Use payroll software effectively to process payroll and maintain records Resolve any discrepancies in payroll data, taking corrective action as needed Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless payroll operations Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect payroll processing and compliance. Requirements Demonstrated proficiency in payroll processing and management Knowledgeable in managing employee terminations and exit procedures Experience with payroll software and systems Strong understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations Excellent data entry and accuracy skills Good understanding of accounting principles Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
