The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.Wells Fargo Small Business Lending (SBL) is the country’s leading small business lender with a full product suite, including lines of credit, business cards, term loans and commercial real estate products. Wells Fargo SBL Risk Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced risk professional to be part of our Acquisitions Risk ManagementTeam. An individual who is results driven, goal oriented, and enjoys a fast-paced working environment will find this opportunity both challenging and exciting.The Credit Portfolio Consultant will participate in strategic acquisitions risk initiatives for our lending products. More specifically, you will be evaluating and sizing risk and opportunities, developing new underwriting and risk management strategies by balancing data-driven analytics and sound credit risk judgment, and managing credit exposure risk at the product and customer level. You will work closely with partners within Risk, Product, Marketing, Technology and Data Solution groups to help design robust new risk strategies for new products, implement new enhancements and continuously optimize the acquisition risk strategies. To be effective in this position, you will need to have a good understanding of credit from a full lifecycle perspective, a broad and strategic perspective on risk management, and practice in the test and learn discipline for strategy development, and be fluent in both the key technical tools of credit risk decisioning and sound credit judgment.The main responsibilities include:

Diligent monitoring and tracking of various credit performance by product, vintage, channel, and marginal risk segments against expectations and ensure timely detection of any potential emerging risks

Proactive identification of acquisition risk strategy enhancements to better mitigate risk on the margin or to improve overall product profitability

Effective communication with business partners and management to gain consensus on proposed acquisition risk strategy changes

Partner closely with Technology and Quality Assurance groups to ensure flawless implementation of strategy changes in the underwriting systems

Provide analytical support to internal and/or external credit reviews.

8+ years of risk experience

5+ years of experience with SAS or SQL, or other data management, reporting and query tools

Desired Qualifications:

Strong analytical and quantitative skills

Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
