Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. On an average day, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. In this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, you will need to be a self-starter with high attention to detail, in order to succeed at handling 200+ invoices a week. This is a long-term contract / temporary Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Commerce, California area.Your responsibilities
Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers
Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP
Provide information, as requested to the sales/marketing department, shippers, customers, and other stakeholders
Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
Verify codes and documents
Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers Requirements - AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
Established analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable
Customer service experience required
Account Coding experience
Efficient in ERP systems
