Farm Mechanic

Family-owned Rice and Walnut farm in Northern California is seeking a well-diversified farm mechanic with experience. The position will oversee the farm shop. In charge of shop inventory, service farm tractors, farm implements, and farm vehicles. The position will require the candidate to work in the shop and out of a service truck for field repairs and field service work, previous mechanical experience with a basic knowledge of hydraulics, metal fabrication, farm implements, small engine, tractor maintenance and automobiles. Extensive engine and transmission overhauls are outsourced. The position will need to be flexible and willing to meet all challenges of a farm mechanic. Regular work schedule will be 45 – 50 hours per week. During our harvest and planting times the work schedule would be up to 7 days per week and up to 10 to 12 hours per day. The candidate needs to be self-motivated, willing to work with others and by themselves. The candidate will report directly to the owner. The pay rate is competitive and negotiable depending on experience and the right candidate.
