Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Position Type: Part time (<35 hours per week) hourly pay, M-F, 9am-4pm in Chico office
Reports to: General Manager
Pay: $24-$26/hour
Job Summary:
The Logistics Specialist’s primary responsibility is to ensure the accurate and timely shipment of domestic and international program supplies, as well as perform other office duties outlined below.
Specific Duties:
● Creating domestic and international shipping documents
● Ensuring supplies are properly packed and protected for transit
● Scheduling pickups and deliveries with various shipping companies
● Tracking both incoming and outgoing shipments
● Communicating with Odyssey staff and clients the shipping details and timeline for shipments
● Tracking and ordering all shipping supplies when necessary
● Organizing received goods in the appropriate storage areas
● Answering phones and taking messages in a professional manner
● Sending congratulations email to client and staff when a program has been booked
● Updating customer retainment management software (CRM) and calendar/board regarding program signing
● Coordinating with the General Manager about inventory and shop needs for upcoming programs
● Supervising 1-4 hourly staff
● Documenting and sharing weekly staff meeting minutes
● Supervising the Logistics Assistant to ensure success
● Keeping a clean and safe work environment
● Managing and implementing projects assigned by supervisors
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
● Organized, detail oriented and professional
● Skilled at communicating with clients via phone and email in ways that are polite, warm, professional, diplomatic and thorough.
● Creative problem solver, motivated self-starter who can work to accomplish multi-faceted goals without close supervision
● Proficient with Google Workspace, HubSpot, Microsoft Office, and Adobe products
● Proficient using shipping websites (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.) to create and track all shipping information
● Skilled at interacting with other Odyssey staff, creating an environment where clear communication, positive attitudes, and hard work are valued.
