Located in Chico California and founded in 1997, MTECH (www.mtechincorporated.com ) designs and manufactures products for firefighting, pest control, and other industrial markets. We are growing rapidly and are looking to make an immediate hire for this full time position.
Primarily focused in purchasing and operations support, the Purchasing Coordinator may interact with customers, vendors and shop floor personnel. Working under the Production Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator will be expected to understand the front office operations as they pertain to the flow and management of paperwork and information, and will be expected to learn the business systems as necessary to support the facility.
Major tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:
Requisition of materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services as necessary in support of production
Review inventory, create, submit and manage product purchase orders.
Match purchase orders to their respective receivers to confirm receipt of all goods
Track incoming job travelers from the production floor; scan and file all job travelers
File job travelers and other operations-related paperwork (receipts, receivers, purchase orders, etc)
Assist in developing, writing, and maintaining procedure guidelines
Job Requirements:
Must be willing to answer the telephone and interface with customers, vendors and shipping companies
Must be highly organized and able to operate effectively while managing multiple tasks
Must enjoy detail-oriented work that includes file management, accurate ERP order and shipment processing, payment processing, and other tasks as described in the Major Areas of Responsibility.
Must be able to exercise independent judgment and confidentiality in assisting with operations details
Professional appearance, demeanor, and communications (both written and verbal)
Ability to communicate and work productively with other employees
Ability to effectively think through problems and develop candidate solutions
Education and Experience:
Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Associates Degree (or equivalent knowledge thereof)
General familiarity with ERP systems and operations in a manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
