Located in Chico California and founded in 1997, MTECH ( www.mtechincorporated.com ) designs and manufactures products for firefighting, pest control, and other industrial markets. We are growing rapidly and are looking to make an immediate hire for this full time position. The Operations Coordinator will be primarily focused in purchasing and operations support, the Operations Coordinator may interact with customers, vendors and shop floor personnel.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and tracking fire truck and fire truck skid builds from the receipt of a customer Purchase Order through final delivery. Acting as the primary liaison between the customer, outside sales team, Engineering, and internal operations, this role ensures that all project milestones are met on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Major tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting with, or providing the following:
Serve as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders, ensuring clear and timely communication.
Review Purchase Orders for accuracy and completeness, and initiate project setup in company systems.
Coordinate with Engineering to ensure all design specifications meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
Work closely with internal operations teams to monitor build progress, address production challenges, and maintain schedules.
Provide regular project status updates to customers, sales representatives, and management.
Track project timelines, budgets, and quality metrics, escalating issues as needed.
Facilitate change orders, ensuring proper documentation and communication of impacts to scope, cost, or schedule.
Conduct pre-delivery reviews to verify compliance with specifications and resolve outstanding items.
Maintain detailed project records from initiation through delivery.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Education and Experience:
Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in vehicle manufacturing or custom equipment fabrication
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands - Ability to move about the facility as needed during the day to fulfill job responsibilities
