Job Title: Accounting Clerk II

Reports to: Controller and CFO

Summary:

The Accounting Clerk II is responsible for the daily recordkeeping and reconciliation of company’s bookkeeping accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Record daily cash inflows/outflows in Quickbooks

2. Initiate wire transfers and ACH payments. Assist in the conversion of foreign cost prices to USD

3. Ensure payments to vendors are timely, accurate, and agree to inventory received

4. Monitor pending inventory, sponsorship pledges, and inventory discrepancies to ensure product and credit memos are received in a timely fashion

5. Prepare daily journal entries for cash sales, inventory adjustments, goodwill orders, and returns

6. Prepare month end journal entries to merge backend and third party data with company financials

7. Reconcile accounts receivable and work with customers to collect payments within terms

8. Reconcile credit card and bank statements monthly. Investigate and report discrepancies to Controller.

9. Reconcile sales and collections per backend to third party processors

10. Liaise with returns department to ensure credits for defective products are complete and timely

11. Draft process and internal controls in company Wiki with the assistance of department managers

12. Prepare bi-weekly budget to actual reports for department managers

13. Prepare monthly results of internal benchmarks and goals for department managers

14. Analyze results from special offers, promotions, and discounted inventory

15. Report work-related injuries to CFO within 24 hours of event

16. Report any concerns or discrepancies to CFO or Director of HR

17. Communicate ideas for better organization, better work-flow, and suggestions

18. Other duties as assigned

Skills and Education/Experience:

1. High School Diploma

2. At least 2 years of accounting experience

3. Attention to details

4. Able to multi task

5. Able to self direct and prioritize

6. Professional oral and written communication skills

7. Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

8. Computer literate (knowledge and experience of Excel, Quickbooks, Word, E-mail, Internet) with the ability to learn new software applications

9. Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

10. Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
