Safety/Security Officer, 2nd Shift (On-Site)

We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety/Security Officer, 2nd Shift to join our team. In this role, you will protect the safety of employees, assets and property. The position also requires monitoring and upholding all company safety and OSHA standards, monitoring restricted office entrances and the premises, monitoring access control, performing safety audits and safety training, and utilizing the company GPS tracker and yard management system for tracking cargo trailers. Applicants should have strong attention-to-detail skills and the ability to observe and report suspicious activities. The ideal candidate also possesses proficiency in resolution management and competency to complete security audits, job safety analysis and preliminary post-accident investigations.A day on the job looks like this:Monitor the company warehouses, yard and premises via CCTV, car and/or foot patrol to ensure the safety and security of all employees and assetsPatrol designated areas on foot or in a vehicle, checking for signs of security property damage, trespassing, fence breaches, vandalism or theftRespond promptly to any emergencies or incidents and escalate as neededVerify visitors and visitor check-in according to policyRespond to emergencies by sounding alarms, contacting emergency personnel and acting in a general emergency response roleUse the company’s yard management system to track or audit cargo trailers, ensuring all cargo is accounted forMonitor inbound and outbound traffic to ensure proper documentation and authorized accessObserve and report any unusual activity, including unauthorized personnel, equipment misuse or unsafe practicesMaintain detailed logs of activities, incidents and findingsConduct post-accident investigationsAssist in creating standard operating practices for equipmentRecord all incidents on the company incident reporting center softwareWrite clear, concise reports on observed activities, incidents and potential hazardsConduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulationsIdentify safety hazards and unsafe work practicesMonitor surveillance equipment and security cameras to ensure active surveillance of the yardControl access to offices, shipping yards and other restricted areas by verifying employee and visitor credentialsCommunicate effectively with personnel regarding safety or security-related issues or concerns
