Competitive pay.The Medication Supervisor is a multi-tasking job that requires attention to detail and oversight of the medication. This includes daily management of the medication ordering, and refilling process, pharmacy issues, and observation of medication pass. The Medication Supervisor reports to management and consults with peers for clarification and assistance to successfully effect the medication needs of the residents in our Assisted living and Memory Care Wings.Full-time opportunitySwift hire for the right person.Responsibilities:Supervise medication pass including auditing for accuracy in pouring medication into individual medication cups.Ensure Department is Title XXII compliant at all timesAvailable to support the team and ensure adequate staffing levels exist at all times.Ensure consistency between the physician prescriptions, blister packs and medications poured for each resident.Ensure timely and accurate medication orders and medication renewals.Assist and manage resident emergencies.Coordinate with Med tech staff and ensure their compliance with job responsibilities.Is involved in new resident admissions and manages current levels of care to ensure resident care needs are being met at all times.Review medication refill log to compare with medication in storage cabinets.Oversees the med room to ensure orders are current, EMARS are being followed, and does periodic audits to ensure compliance.Coordinates and oversees all continuing education for med tech staff.Must have a flexible work schedule and be available to respond to care & staffing emergencies that may arise.Maintain medical and medication information on residents chart files as coordinated with current primary and consulting physiciansReview all late or missed medications as communicated and ensure appropriate follow up.Oversee the management and destruction of controlled and non-controlled substances including safekeeping of controlled substances in double-locked medicine cabinet and medication room.Review of controlled Inventory and documentation of listed medications.Ensure the proper storage of controlled substances not in use.Review of “no-refill” orders in the refill log and fax requests of MDs.Review of receipt, storage and documentation of medications delivered.Must be good with a computer and modern software programs and cloud storage and be able to quickly become familiar with our Resident EMAR software solution (Eldermark).
