Mercy San Juan Medical Center has received recognition for being a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery along with Certificates of Excellence in Perinatal Care Hip- and Knee- Replacement.ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent accurately and efficiently processes all lab specimens with appropriate use of the hospital and laboratory information systems.The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.QualificationsRequirements:
Lab Assistant/phlebotomist in an acute care hospital. 1 year experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory terminology aseptic technique laboratory tests and specimen handling and blood collection techniques as demonstrated by CAP required competency assessment and organizational requirements.
California CPT-1 or CPT-2 or certification or other California state certification permitting phlebotomy.
