Quality Assurance Inspector

Summary Under direct supervision the individual is responsible for conducting receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and shipping inspection to ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards. The Quality Assurance Inspectoris expected to be proficient in quality inspection fordepartments including shipping/receiving, machine shop, weld shop, and electro-mechanical. Essential Functions

Plan and perform detailed inspections of materials, parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMM, dial indicators, depth gages, optical comparators, height gages, surface plate, and digital/automated inspection devices.

Document all inspection results per company policies and requirements in the ERP system. Follow all requirements of company quality management system includingISO9001 andAS9100

Performs receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and shipping inspection to ensure quality and conformance to customer specifications

Performs First Article Inspections and generates First Article Inspection reports in accordance with AS 9102 (SAE Aerospace Standard for the First Article Inspection).

May participate in the Material Review Board; inspects material being reviewed; transacts Non-Conforming Material Reports; completes and scans Defective Material Reports (DMR)

Transports material and parts to and from various work centers to perform quality inspection

Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing events.

Education, Experience, and Skills

Minimum of 1or moreyears of experience in quality inspection or relatedfunctions

Experience working in contract manufacturing preferred

High level understanding of complex GD&T

Able to read and interpret prints and drawings.

Able to use precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gages, optical comparators, height gages, surface plate, CMM and digital/automated inspection devices

Able to process material analysis and first article inspection reports

Experience in mechanical inspection to ANSI standards

Previous experience with ISO9001 andAS9100

Good analytical and problem solving skills, as well as a keen attention to detail

Ability to work independently, stay focused, and perform in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are necessary to enable individual to work with all positions and personalities

Good computer skills including Microsoft Office and must be able to learn and work within ERP system

Strong English communication skills. Must be able to create and write clear and detailed records and documents.
