Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionThe ideal candidate is either a college graduate or on track to graduate with a degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Ecology, or a related field. This role focuses on collecting and preparing wastewater samples, calibrating equipment, and assisting lab staff with a variety of sampling tasks. A 'can-do' attitude and being a team player are essential.Responsibilities
Collecting samples from auto-samplers within the facility.
Preparing and calibrating meters.
Checking temperatures and preparing samples.
Assisting with other chemistry needs as required.
Supporting lab operations a few days a week (Tuesday - Friday schedule).
Essential Skills
On track to complete a degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Solid knowledge of quality control and sampling techniques (TNT, COD, Field Sampling).
Experience with Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), preferably in an environmental lab setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Some lab experience to be familiar with the setting.
Knowledge in environmental science.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a traditional environmental lab with an open platform and benches next to each other, creating a collaborative 'fishbowl' style setting. The lab is small, with a team size of six people, fostering a transparent and cooperative culture. The work schedule follows a flexible 9/80 schedule from Tuesday to Friday, 6:30 am to 4 pm, accommodating entry-level candidates' needs.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
