A California based certified DBA Electrical engineering and contracting firm specializing in Design and Planning services for overhead and underground electrical utilities and telecommunications is seeking Fielder/Planner to join their team. The Fielder/Planner will support local utilities in Los Angeles and San Diego County. The Fielder/Planner will perform field surveys of existing utility poles and underground vaults, collect data from digital records then apply company, Industry, and regulatory standards and specifications to plan the construction, relocation, installation and/or maintenance of facilities and equipment associated with overhead and underground telecommunications equipment and utility infrastructure. Requirements:
1+ years of fielding/utility pole surveying
Overhead and underground preferred but not required
Experience with O-Calc or Spida-Calc is preferred but not required.
Preferred Skills:
AutoCAD
Pole loading experience (O-Calc) - No required
General Order 95 knowledge
NESC knowledge
Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, etc)
Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc)
Skills & Qualifications:
Conduct field walks in a variety of conditions to gather pertinent infrastructure information
Ability to collect, organize and analyze information from field walks to generate construction plans
Ability to create, read and interpret construction sketches
Ability to interact and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and potential customers
Ability to manage time and adapt to changes in schedule'
Simultaneously manage several projects
Demonstrate creative problem solving
Additional Info:
Pay Range: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour (Negotiable based upon experience)
Per Diem will be provided for Lodging and food on the occasion there is overnight travel.
Car Allowance: Will receive additional $5 per hour to cover vehicle expenses
Must be comfortable traveling to multiple locations throughout the US.
Main project locations are Florida and Arizona.
