Job OverviewPlanetArt is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director, Merchandising & Promotion to help shape our global make-on-demand gifting business. In this pivotal role you will lead the development and execution of promotional initiatives utilizing analytics to optimize sales, pricing, and product margins. As a creative strategic thinker with a passion for data and promotional concepts, you will be at the forefront of enterprise-wide strategy for all things offer- and pricing-related. PLEASE NOTE: Candidates must be local to, or willing to relocate to, the Calabasas area as we operate on a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 remote)What You’ll Do Deliver enterprise-level financial results through the development, monitoring, and management of all relevant merchandising KPIs, such as revenue per unit, product margin per unit, merchandise order value, units per order, category growth and margin, upgrade %, shipping expense take-out and refunds. Optimize customer engagement through the creation, coordination and implementation of promotions and personalized offers. This includes special deals for sites and apps, including offers for SMS and CRM campaigns. Lead the development and execution of innovative pricing and discounting approaches to support expanded product margins, leveraging both external competitive pricing assessments as well as internal data analyses. Monitor and analyze sales, inventory turnover and category performance, providing insights to the Merchandising team based on the “now” so that there can be continuous improvement on what designs and products are being developed for the “next”. Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, Merchandising and Product teams to establish effective go-tomarket approaches for new and existing promotions. Establish cross-functional relationships with Operations, Sourcing and Planning teams for effective collaboration and joint problem-solving, fostering a culture of partnership. Oversee creation of a comprehensive weekly state of the business report for the entire enterprise, highlighting key metrics and analysis such as top categories, products, gross margin, home page performance, customer demographics, behaviors, and marketing metrics.Requirements 5+ years direct experience in Direct-to-Consumer ecommerce, specifically for tangible/physical products. 5+ years with direct responsibility for coordinating promotional marketing in a customer facing ecommerce business. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Detail-oriented, process-driven, organized, and able to stay two steps ahead. Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to envision and execute promotional and pricing strategies aligned with the company's objectives and market trends. Innovative thinker, able to come up with new ideas and take a creative approach to identifying new opportunities based on data. Proven ability to adapt to changing market conditions and evolving business priorities, ensuring the continuous effectiveness of initiatives. Highly analytical thinker that prefers to make decisions based on data. Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to effectively plan, organize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex insights and strategic recommendations to diverse audiences.
