As a Shop Technician, you will work in Quality Control (QC), Material Sorting, CNC Workstations, Accessories, and Assembly.Position Overview
Reporting to the Working Shop Supervisor, the Shop Technician is a specialized role. This position involves operating woodworking machines, using hand tools, preparing measurements, and reading and understanding shop drawings.Roles and Responsibilities:Set up and maintain multiple workstations, including edgebanders, assembly, CNC machinery, QC, sorting, and accessories.Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as lubricating and cleaning equipment.Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers and measuring tapes, to verify and compute dimensions of finished pieces, ensuring they match the Bill of Materials (BOM).Demonstrate knowledge of building materials, including colors and thicknesses.Read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints accurately.Ensure attention to detail and maintain a strong focus on safety.Practice good housekeeping to maintain a safe and clutter-free worksite.Perform material handling tasks, including counting, sorting, packing, and unpacking.Proactively communicate job conditions and concerns that may affect the completion of the job.
