Overview:Accountable for the overall operational success of the Merchandise Division, which consists of the Retail, Games, and Extra Charge Departments. Collaborates with Corporate Resale on the Division's strategic direction in accordance with the overall goals of Cedar Fair and the Park.Salary Details: $138,470 - $178,030/yr. based on experience.Responsibilities:

Develops a business plan with goals and objectives that are necessary for the Division's success. Regularly monitors the goals' progress and makes changes as necessary to take advantage of opportunities and reduce risks. Financial, guest-service, and associate experience goals are all included in the business plan and are in line with the overall site objectives and with the Corporate Retail, Games and Extra Charge division. Develops and manages overall P&L annually and day-to-day.

Oversees the department management's hiring, development, and leadership. Manages performance concerns with direct reports, deals with disciplinary issues, contributes significantly to decisions about promotion, demotion, and termination, and examines, revises, and approves department staff performance evaluations.

Partners with Corporate Merchandise Buyers team to ensure that inventory management, quality control, brand integrity, vendor selection, and product development are carried out at the highest possible level and in accordance with legal, ethical, and policy requirements.

Implements and ensures Cedar Fair customer service standards apply to every aspect of the operations of the division, including location appearance, product presentation, services provided, contacts with guests, and return and refund procedures.

Works with corporate partners to develop and execute a pricing, product and operating plan that leverages the resources of the entire enterprise to maximize effectiveness.

Takes action to ensure that the division is compliant with all local, state, and federal agency laws and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to the OC Heath Department, gaming regulatory agencies, product safety and liability regulations.

Develops, puts into practice, and manages safety processes and policies that abide by all housekeeping and safety requirements set by Knott’s, Cedar Fair and regulatory bodies. Addresses safety concerns and provide personnel with the necessary training to encourage a safe and clean workplace.

In collaboration with the Corporate Retail, Games and Extra Charge division, continuously creates and improves a long-term vision for the division that enables suggested capital expenditure and efficient resource allocation. Leads all approved capital projects through execution.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, with an emphasis in Business preferred.

Strong retail background managing a multi-unit operation preferably in a Theme Park environment. Retail buying experience to include hard and soft goods. Games Management experience.

Prior working knowledge with Warehouse / logistics experience preferred.

Approximately 5% of travel required.

At least 7-10 years prior experience directing leaders with functional area responsibilities and to undertake the following employment actions including hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.

Have a valid California Driver's License.

Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
