Description Robert Half is looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to undertake a temporary assignment with a large, growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a strong background in payroll administration who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This will be a temporary / contract assignment located in Buellton, California. Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Calculate wages, deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
Review timesheets, attendance records, and other inputs for completeness and accuracy.
Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly and professionally.
Prepare payroll reports, including but not limited to tax filings, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll information and adhere to data protection policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role, handling full-cycle payroll processing.
Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office suite, especially Excel.
Experience using the software Mosaic and UKG is a huge plus!
Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
