Expeditors is headquartered in Seattle, Washington.Scope of Position: Ensure that Ocean customers are well transitioned and served from/in the destination or managing branch. Further develop the Ocean product in the marketplace through focus on operations, finances, sales, people, systems, and culture in adherence to the company’s policies and procedures.Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the management of the branch’s Ocean Import department

Proactively monitor various shipment and exception reports to ensure meeting KPI’s

Ensure current and new business is set up and maintained in the most operationally efficient and productive manner

Build and maintain strong and positive relationships with clients and vendors

Evaluate service providers at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on areas of possible improvements with corrective action plans where needed

Ensure that productivity and profitability goals for the Ocean Import department are met

Make sure billing process is completed and on-time

Actively develop business for department through active involvement in sales and retention process and close coordination with sales department, as per company and branch’s objectives

Ensure department is using all system tools to their greatest advantage based on your department size and organization

Ensure Customer Reviews and scorecards are completed with your regular customers

Develop department personnel through annual reviews and staff appraisals timely

Review department goals and business plan periodically with staff to ensure by-in and accountability

People

Conduct and document monthly 1 on 1’s in PDC

100% compliance of annual evaluations and training requirements

Mentorship of at least 2 district employees

Involvement in district wide initiatives and leadership curriculum

Drive team morale to ensure employee satisfaction and retention

Active engagement in developing the next generations of leaders for the organization

Customer

Identification of 3-5 needle moving targets

Closing 1-2 ‘A’ accounts per year

Out on the road pursuing new business and logos 50% of the time

Regular reviews of customer P&L’s to find ways of becoming more profitable

Operations

Development of our bench

Annual tactical business plan and initiatives

Goals around digitization and process efficiencies

Volunteering for CHQ rollouts of tools

100% OPA scores and timely CAPA resolution

100% on workboard and GBO rollouts

Finance

2.5:1 revenue to expense

$25000 revenue per desk

P&L fluency in both subject matter expert and training

Active management and involvement with all finances

Expectations:

Pursue industry certifications - CBL, IATA/FIATA, ELPW, and Leader-Leader model

Taking part of continuous learning - IDP

Preparation to take on the next opportunity – BM/DM

4+ years of industry specific qualification (country specific)

Proven leadership attitude and background

Strong market and product knowledge

Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results

Proven negotiation skills

Strong knowledge of basic computer skills (Excel, Word)
