Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome a District Manager (DM) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. You will be responsible for all facets of the Bishop District’s operations, including logistics, distribution construction, operations, maintenance and financial. The District Manager leads the site, to include ensuring EH&S activities/policies are adhered to and required training is completed. In addition, provide leadership to the Field Supervisor, Production Specialist, and the Metering Field Organization. The District Manager is accountable for the environmental health and safety of the entire Bishop District work location and its employees. The District Manager is charged with ensuring that budget allocation and operations within the District are optimized, including resource scheduling, material distribution and crew productivity, in an efficient manner and for the overall success in meeting safety, financial, customer satisfaction, compliance and reliability goals.As a District Manager, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Providing guidance and leadership to frontline supervisor and bargaining unit employees.

Supervising day-to-day operations to ensure work is performed and desired results are obtained.

Ensuring the safety of the workforce and establishing a positive work environment.

Resource planning to identify and allocate district resources in order to effectively accomplish forecasted work, including upcoming projects, capital and O&M maintenance and new business.

Implementing changes and collaborating with subordinates, peers, and senior management.

Interfacing frequently with external entities and agencies (e.g., contract crews, governmental accounts, etc.).

Providing leadership to resolve all internal and external customer and community relation issues that may impact the Bishop District.

Leading employee performance and development by conducting performance planning, reviews, and coaching employees.

Developing and implementing suitable performance indicators for the organization.

Recommending, developing and/or approving departmental/organizational policies and procedures.

Developing business plans, objectives, and initiatives in alignment with business strategy and customer requirements.

Creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

The essentials

Five or more years of experience managing/supervising an organizational unit or project management experience related to the design and/or construction and maintenance of the electric system.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

The Preferred

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related technical field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge of Distribution Construction, Maintenance and Design standards, OSHA regulations, safety work practices and procedures and labor contracts.

Project management techniques to establish and maintain budgets, develop communication plans, and review and update scope and progress for complex multidisciplinary projects.

Excellent communication skills, position interfaces and/or collaborates with internal/external clients, governmental agencies, all levels of employees, managers within and across business units, and corporate officers to develop solutions and facilitate cooperation between departments.

Ability to achieve results through others by prioritizing activities, delegating and monitoring the progress of assignments, and holding employees accountable for results.

Create a positive high-performance work environment. - Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.

This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
