The Department of State Hospitals-Atascadero is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services for mentally ill adult males who are court committed throughout the State of California.
Psychiatric Technicians work to maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients, to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property; to provide a basic level of general behavioral psychiatric nursing care to patients who are mentally disordered; and to participate in the overall psychiatric treatment program.
