Join our team as a Senior Accountant, handling advanced accounting and auditing tasks, supporting the City’s accounting operations, and supervising staff. This role requires independent judgment and strong technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and prepare financial records, reports, and reconciliations.
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
Supervise and train accounting and clerical staff.
Manage grant accounting and investment accounts.
Assist with audits and end-of-year reporting.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 3-5 years of professional accounting experience (governmental/public agency preferred) + 2 years supervisory experience.
Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office, and spreadsheets.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
Valid CA Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Valid identification that proves your right to work in the United States.
