Our talented team of Cast Members, Crew Members, Imagineers, and employees deliver unparalleled levels of service, entertainment, and imagination, bringing a range of authentic and immersive stories to life across the globe.As part of the Employee Culture & Connections team, the Communications Technology Specialist is responsible for driving the digital transformation of employee communications to amplify stories more effectively and efficiently. This role joins a specialized bi-coastal Communications Technology team that works closely with content, creative, and technical partners to deliver communications solutions that connect employees throughout the segment.This role will contribute to building a team that is nimble, creative, optimistic, disruptive, and develops fresh ideas.Responsibilities:Work with multiple stakeholders and technology partners to design, develop, and enhance select digital communication products and workflows within the Communications Technology portfolio. These range from online content platforms and digital signage to push notification systems and integrated analytics.

Partner with communication teams to identify, collect, and analyze digital communication metrics in support of business objectives/KPIs.

Write, review, test, and maintain code for a range of applications within a modern software development lifecycle. Deliverables include email templates, campaign landing pages, automation scripts, DAM configurations, API transactions, and CMS themes/plugins.

Research new standards, frameworks, and products as technology evolves to adapt third-party solutions to support communication use cases.

Collaborate with leaders, site teams, and technology partners to ensure current and future technology support communication priorities such as accessibility, relevancy, and innovation.

Provide general technology expertise and support for communications initiatives at all stages, from concept through completion.

Basic Qualifications:You are a creative technologist that sees the potential in new technologies to deliver engaging user experiences for a diverse global workforce.

You aren’t afraid of disruption and have a portfolio of innovative technology deliverables demonstrating that you are a life-long learner with a passion understanding new platforms and emerging technologies.

You love working collaboratively on projects and can speak fluently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate complex concepts.

You have experience in web design, development, deployment, and sustainment in an enterprise setting. This includes fluency with industry standard applications (Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, Visual Studio or other IDE, Microsoft Office 365), modern programming languages and libraries (HTML, SCSS/CSS, JS, React, JSON, XML, Bootstrap, PHP), version control (GitHub, GitLab), and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira).

You have extensive experience using and enhancing WordPress 5.0+ with custom blocks, themes, plugins, and APIs. This includes third-party extensions (ACF, CPT, WPML), server-side logic (PHP) and client-side scripting (JS, AJAX, Gutenberg, React).

You have direct experience supporting communication or marketing campaigns, including the analysis of web analytics to guide strategy and assess tactics.

You are flexible, organized, and motivated to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously.

You have an appreciation for the Disney brand and understand the many global businesses represented within Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

You are familiar with existing Disney internal communication solutions, including Inside Disney, HUB, SharePoint, Confluence, employee-facing digital signage, Slack, Teams, and Office 365.

You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in the technology, communications, or marketing fields.
