Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist in the healthcare industry. This role is based in Alhambra, California and will involve handling patients' billing and insurance-related information within a hospital setting. Responsibilities: Manage and keep up-to-date patient accounts. Act as a liaison between patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing disputes. Review insurance denials and make necessary appeals. Conduct billing and collection activities, including processing insurance claims. Respond to patient inquiries about billing, insurance coverage, and payment options. Review outstanding insurance balances and initiate steps to process payments. Work with data management systems to track payments, charges, and adjustments. Ensure the accuracy of patients' accounts by regularly updating and maintaining them. Clarify insurance benefits to patients. Use medical software to handle UB04 form, medical billing, collections, appeals, and denials. Requirements Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry Proficiency in using UB04 form Experience with Medical software Proven skills in Medical Billing and Medical Collections Knowledge of Medical Appeals and Medical Denials Familiarity with Hospital Billing procedures Experience in Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient billing Knowledge of Hospital Revenue Cycle Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving abilities Good time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Familiarity with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to collections Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
