Description Robert Half has a full-time opportunity for Staff Accountant candidates who want to become a critical part of an innovative company. To flourish in this role, candidates will need to be highly capable of handling a challenging work environment with many components. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role's duties include internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Pine Bluff, Arkansas area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations Requirements - Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Great attention to detail
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
