All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Position InformationClass Code: U084UGrade: SE02FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPTSalary Range: $120,543.00 - $157,100.00SummaryThe Director of the Division of Community Correction is responsible for administering the division and its facilities and services. The Division of Community Correction supervises more than 60,000 offenders throughout the state. The division is responsible for adult parole, post-release supervision, probation supervision, and the operation of six licensed residential treatment centers. ACC is working to make Arkansas safer by changing offender behavior through evidence-based approaches, programs, and services. FunctionsAdministers the Division of Community Correction and supervises the administration of all facilities, programs, and services under the Division of Community Correction’s jurisdiction. Employs such personnel as are required in the administration of the provisions of this act, provided that the employment of personnel shall be following the applicable laws and personnel rules of the state. Institutes programs for the training and development of personnel within the Division of Community Correction and has the authority to suspend, discharge, or otherwise discipline personnel following policies prescribed by the Board of Corrections. Produces annual reports to the Board of Corrections, which will be forwarded to the Governor and the General Assembly regarding the work of the Division of Community Correction including statistics and other data, income derived from fee collection, a summary of expenditures of the Division of Community Correction, progress reports regarding internal issues such as offender success, programming development, bed space utilization, and future needs. Cooperates with the Division of Correction, the Post-Prison Transfer Board, the Arkansas Sentencing Commission, judicial districts, counties, and municipalities to provide the guidance and services required to ensure a full range of correctional and community correction options for the state. Testifies before the legislature as requested and communicates with Board members and other stakeholders regarding the Division of Community Correction. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum QualificationsThe formal education equivalent of a master’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, business administration, corrections, social sciences, or related field; twelve years of progressively more responsible experience in the field of corrections; including six years in an administrative and supervisory capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
