DescriptionStarting Salary Range: $64,000.00 - 79,000.00 - position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met.As our Operator In Training, you will complete a 24-month training program to become a MISO System Operator to support reliability of the electric power grid in a 15-state region. You will successfully pass two semesters of college coursework to gain foundational knowledge of the energy industry and the electrical power system. You will reinforce new concepts and skills through structured on-the-job learning experiences to develop fundamental understanding of the MISO control room and your future role as a system operator.You will develop relationships and create a network of industry professionals in a formal mentoring partnership with seasoned MISO professionals and be part of a collaborative team working toward common goals and shared results.You will successfully complete the required certifications and training to become a desk-qualified control room operator and work.We are looking for talented individuals who have the following qualifications or abilities:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Self-motivated to excel in the requirements for remote college-level courses while learning a new industry and profession

Ability to adjust to various or changing circumstances and demonstrate flexibility to carry out work objectives

Strong ability to define problems, collect & analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to demonstrate professionalism and collaboration in a dynamic professional setting

Aptitude and interest to learn and apply a deep understanding of bulk electric system operations, market operations, and initiatives related to ongoing professional development

Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour day/night rotating shift schedule

Ability and willingness to complete a 24-month training program and remain employed with MISO for an additional 24 months (48 months combined total commitment)

Strong sensory skills, such as good eyesight, hearing, dexterity, and color perception
