QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED

Diesel mechanic certification or completion of Vo-Tech Diesel Mechanic class with a grade of "B" or better.

Five years experience as a mechanic or mechanic helper

Commercial drivers' license

Pass drug/alcohol test

REPORTS TO: Director of Transportation/Operation and Parts SupervisorJOB GOAL: To keep the District’s buses and vehicles in such a state of operating excellence that they present no problems or interruptions to the educational program.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform mechanical repairs including major overhauls.

Perform inspections of a vehicle and its equipment.

Maintain maintenance records.

Available as substitute bus driver when needed.

Perform some heavy lifting.

Respond to after hour emergencies.

Report for drug/alcohol testing as required by Board policy.

Perform other duties as assigned.
