Position Summary:The Student Support Specialist is tasked with providing support to the international students on-campus through immigration, financial questions, registration, and insurance, in some aspects. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Services in the International Programs department.Duties & Responsibilities:

Creates and Emails initial immigration forms

Processes this immigration paperwork: dependents, transfer in, transfer out

Issues scholarships to admitted students to be added to the I-20

Assist the PDSO with managing the $350 deposit

Assist the PDSO with managing the $3,000 deposit

Advises students on other non-related financial questions

Checks registration reports at beginning of term for the PDSO

Submits updates in SEVIS

Enrolls all students in insurance

Advises students for all insurance related questions

Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to work comfortably with students of other culturesAbility to be flexibleAbility to interact and communicate effectively in all forms: interpersonal, written, and verbalStrong attention to detailStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlinesGeneral Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or neededRegular and reliable attendanceOther:Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M.
