OverviewAs a Sr. Physicist at CHI St. Vincent you Develop, supervise and coordinate the Radiation Oncology Physics Program. Responsible for calibrating equipment and performing quality assurance as per state and federal regulations in Radiation Oncology. Assist in treatment planning and any other physics support in the department. Performs duties and responsibilities consistent with CHI St. Vincent's mission, values, and service standards.CHI St Vincent Hot Springs is a 280-bed faith-based, non-profit, Magnet Accredited facility providing quality health care to patients and communities all over Arkansas. As the only level II trauma center in the southwest part of the state, CHI St Vincent Hot Springs is the regional referral center for cardiology, trauma, neuro, ortho, oncology, and critical care/pulmonary. We have earned top patient safety ratings from Leapfrog and were recently named as one of the Nation’s 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals in Fortune and PINC AI.If you are committed to social justice, and health equity, and prepared to deliver care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us.ResponsibilitiesFunctionally supervises and assists Dosimetrists in the calculation of treatment plans.Machine calibration, quality assurance, and special physics projects.Provides routine quality assurance for treatment machines.Acts as Radiation Safety Officer for the Cancer Treatment Center.Works with and assists Radiation Oncologists in the development of new techniques, and procedures.Maintains records of the use of radionuclides for brachytherapy procedures. Assembles and prepares brachytherapy applications and interstitial sources; loads and threads sources, as needed. Returns sources to the storage area.Ensures that the physics department is in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations as well as the requirements for the Joint Commission.Educates the nursing staff regarding radioactive sources and safety. Performs patient-related dosimetry measurements using ionization chambers, film TLD, and the like whenever required.Other duties as assigned by management.QualificationsRequired Education for Staff Job Levels: Masters Degree in Medical PhysicsRequired Licensure and Certifications: Board eligible or certified by the ABR in Therapeutic Medical PhysicsRequired Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of radiation therapy procedures and best practices.PREFERRED Qualifications3-5 years of clinical experienceExperience with Linac-based SRS and SBRTExperience with Linear Accelerators, Aria, and EclipsePay Range$73.08 - $116.92 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
