This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.FunctionsEnforces all federal, state, and local laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and medical marijuana including the sale, possession, purchase, and transportation of products. Employs basic law enforcement skills, observes activity occurring in the area of assignment, and is alert to acts which may result in violations or any other serious crime. Collects evidence and testifies at hearings and in court. Responds to reports of a crime in progress, conducts a crime scene assessment, intervenes to terminate criminal acts or to investigate and initiate appropriate actions, and issues summons or citations for misdemeanor crimes or violations, as prescribed in the agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures, and applicable state law. Inspects the records of permit holders to ensure compliance with Arkansas laws, including compliance checks to enforce underage sales of alcohol and tobacco products, conducts inspections of permitted businesses for violations of state laws, and writes violation reports for illegal activities at permitted outlets. OR the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma, plus five years of law enforcement experience with two years in investigation, electronic forensics, or a crime scene division.
