Description The Project Manager is accountable for accelerating the execution of operational projects, programs, and processes to achieve optimal outcomes. Assignments may include the oversight and execution of capital investment initiatives, as well as innovation & productivity projects for Owens Corning Fort Smith. Initiatives aligned with these projects are generally defined as opportunities that introduce new capabilities to our customers, optimize return on capital, and streamline processes to advance business strategies within our organization. It is incumbent on the Project Manager to assure that all projects and programs follow Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies to improve Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), eliminate critical losses, and improve productivity. This position is responsible for bringing focus to key workstreams within the TPM pillar framework. Reports to : Plant Leader Span of Control : Small teams and/or indirect resources may be assigned to this leader. The primary focus of this position involves managing the workstreams of the various processes or programs as an individual contributor to achieve defined project outcomes. This can include workstreams in capital delivery, materials management, technology innovation, supply chain, product management, operations, human capital, construction, environmental / health and safety, etc. The Project Manager will work with technical, financial, operational, and maintenance leadership to safely deliver, on-time, on-budget, agreed-upon project outcomes. Job Responsibilities Developing and Executing Program Safety: In partnership with the TPM EHS and Early Management (EM) Pillars, execute a strategy to further ensure safety in designs and execution of projects in a proactive methodology designed to ensure loss elimination.

Project & Program Execution: Track and manage the various workstreams within projects to identify risks and develop mitigation plans as needed. Communicate status to team and update workstreams as needed to achieve business outcome. Identify gaps in execution strategy and work with the Plant Leader and appropriate functional leaders to develop strategies based on best practices, standards, and lessons learned to execute the unique characteristics of growth, innovation, and productivity projects within the Non-Wovens organization. A learning strategy should be developed throughout the project or program and executed at appropriate stages throughout. Management and alignment of the Leaders for the various workstreams during execution will be key.

Continuous Improvement and Learning: Analyze loss over the course of the project and ensure that lessons learned are captured and included in the project and stage gate process to ensure loss elimination and best practice integration in future projects. Utilize lessons learned from past projects and ensure a chain of learning is maintained from project to project. During all execution phases, ensure a collaborative approach is utilized within the organization.

Leading and Developing Talent: Be accountable for the impact of talent on projects by ensuring roles and responsibilities are defined, documented, and updated to realize expected project outcomes. As a change agent, communicate lessons learned and facilitate training sessions to upskill talent to support new methods. The Project Manager will also partner with the Training and Development (T&D) Pillar to drive talent selection and development, equipping Fort Smith with superior expertise and organizational design for site growth. This includes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to build a robust pipeline of technical capability. Individually, the Project Manager is expected to actively prepare for broader scope assignments as well as leadership succession and should seek clear feedback from stakeholders in addition to maintaining a specific personal development growth plan.

Leadership: The Project Manager is a member of the Natural Leadership Team (NLT) at Fort Smith and has ownership for developing and executing site strategy. It is expected that the Project Manager leads and behaves within Owens Corning’s leadership capabilities for growth. The ability to communicate to all team participants and facilitate alignment of the team will be a key capability of this position. Leading complex change, the Project Manager will ensure all team members operate with the upmost integrity and respect throughout each assignment while fulfilling assigned tasks.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor of Science in engineering, business, or related field required

3-5 years of experience in project management roles for manufacturing asset capital investments or operational continuous improvements

Manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering background and work experience

Proven ability to develop and drive focus for critical factors to attain short and long-term goals and aspirations

Demonstrated track record of driving results in difficult situations and implements strategies in a timely and cost-effective manner

Proven track record in facilitating diverse groups thru influence leadership

Ability to lead up and down within the organization and drive critical decision-making

Effective communicator, ability to clearly articulate project objectives and outcomes at all levels of the organization and drive with simplicity and clarity.
