Job Details Division: [[divisionobj]] Location: [[filter4]] , [[filter3]] , [[filter2]] Other Available Locations: [[mfield1]] Basic Job Functions:The role of the Product Development Metallurgist includes but is not limited to the following:
Leading research and development of sheet steel grades including hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized/galvannealed products.
Leading/coordinating trials interfacing with operation, technical, and commercial teams.
Leading/coordinating qualification efforts of new and existing products with automotive OEMs/tiers interfacing with different NSAR teams, other Nucor divisions, as well as 3rd party laboratories.
Supporting customer technical service including direct contact with customers.
[[custsafetyState]]Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent technical/engineering related steel production experience
2 years of related engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S./Ph.D. in Metallurgy or material science.
Sheet steel experience.
Automotive steel related experience.
Proven track record of problem solving and process improvements
