Summary Our Yuma Service Center Garage has an opening for a Satellite Journeyman Heavy Duty Fleet Mechanic The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 5:30am - 2:00pm (AZ/MST) Minimum Requirements:
Qualified candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent plus completion of one of the following:
Completed a qualified Journeyman Mechanic Apprenticeship Program; an Automotive AAS degree from a community college or have graduated from a Certified Automotive Technical School, plus have 5 years of experience in the trade
or
If no formal training, candidate must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in the trade.
Applicants must have a Class A CDL License or Permit for Manual Transmission Vehicles at the time of application and a clean driving record.
If the applicant is awarded the position and hold a CDL Permit, they must obtain a valid Class A CDL license (for manual transmission with no mechanical restrictions (i.e., airbrakes)) prior to their official transfer/start date.
If the applicant is awarded the position and holds an out-of-state CDL, they must obtain a valid Arizona Class A CDL license (for manual transmission with no mechanical restrictions (i.e., airbrakes)) within 30 days of their official transfer/start date.
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge in the following areas:
All aspects of medium/heavy duty gas and diesel truck maintenance and repair
Light duty vehicle maintenance and/or construction equipment
Must have hydraulic equipment experience
Preferred experience in mobile fleet service
Additional Information:
Must live within reasonable distance (one (1) hour) from headquarters
Applicants must pass aptitude and qualifying Journeyman tests (written/hands-on)
This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 350lbs or less

Eligibility: Must live or relocate within reasonable distance to the headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations. Reasonable distance for Troublemen, Local Representatives, and Substation Technicians is defined as thirty (30) minutes for Metro locations and forty-five (45) minutes for State Region locations.+ + For jobs in departments (System, Reliability, Hotstick) that require the majority of the work be performed out-of-town and as such, employees/crews are not required to report to the established headquarters unless directed by Leadership; the reasonable distance requirement will be waived This will not apply to Troublemen, Local Representatives or Substation Technicians.
