IT Support Engineer

Cole Technologies is a managed service provider serving SMBs across Tucson and Phoenix specializing in cybersecurity and compliance.

The ideal candidate in this IT Support Engineer role is able to effectively identify technical problems, implement solutions that are secure and meet the customer's requirements, and work autonomously. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have great customer-oriented attitude, is able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal), and has a high aptitude for identifying areas of improvement.

The IT Support Engineer will work on support requests and implement solutions to problems. Additionally, he/she will identify areas of improvements within customer's environments to proactively increase the security, availability, and effectiveness of the systems we manage. The candidate should have a desire to interact with end users as well as make proactive improvements to the technology solutions that we implement and support.

Technical competencies should include most of the following:

Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022

Windows desktop environments (Mac and Linux experience is a plus)

Microsoft 365

Active Directory/Group Policy

Mid-level networking

Wireless networking (Examples: Ruckus, Ubiquiti, Cisco, Aerohive, etc.)

VMware ESXi

Microsoft Hyper-V

VoIP telephone systems

Main job responsibilities will include the following, but this is not an exhaustive list:

Respond to support requests via phone, email, or chat and enter support ticket details into service desk system

Troubleshoot a variety of reported issues from Tier 1 all the way up to advanced Tier 3

Consult internally to continuously improve our solutions catalog

Compose and update IT documentation

Occasionally visit clients on-site to troubleshoot issues, meet about potential solutions, and perform other maintenance on systems

Provide occasional on-call support, which may include after-hours/weekend support

Interact with customers to enter support requests

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

2-3 years of experience supporting Windows Server/Active Directory environments

2-3 years of experience administering an Active Directory environment utilizing Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP

2-3 supporting a Microsoft 365 environment

2-3 supporting a virtualized environment (VMware or Hyper-V)

Customer-focused attitude

Self-starter. Ability to task self and prioritize with occasional guidance.

Great verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate professionally to business stakeholders, including C-level executives

Recommended qualifications:

Prior experience working in a multi-customer support environment

5+ years of experience supporting Windows Server/Active Directory environments

1+ years of experience supporting enterprise-grade technology solutions (VMware, NetApp, etc.)

1+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Azure, Intune, and other Microsoft 365 solutions

1+ years of experience utilizing mid-level to enterprise-grade network solutions (Cisco, HPe, Dell)

1+ year of experience supporting Meraki networks
