Job Summary:
Assist the delivery driver with loading and unloading appliances and mattresses to customers in a careful, efficient, and safe manner. Transport, sort, and stock materials.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Loads vehicle for delivery.
Delivers goods to customers safely, mindful of the customers home and existing appliances.
Interacts with the customer in a professional manner.
Collects required signatures, payments, proof of delivery, and gives a receipt to customer.
Notates serial numbers on invoices in legible handwriting.
Unloads vehicle after completing delivery runs.
Observes no smoking in delivery vehicle.
Maintains a neat and clean personal appearance due to customer interaction.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. No CDL required.
No prior experience necessary, will provide training.
Familiarity with delivery and handling method practices preferred.
Essential/Physical Job Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.
Must be able to stand, walk, and sit regularly, in addition to being able to utilize hand dexterity, climb, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl regularly as the job requires.
Must be able to work under extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) frequently based on what is expected to complete the job.
Must be able to hear, see, communicate, and utilize the necessary equipment required to complete the job in a timely manner.
