One Source Healthcare – Arizona (Tucson + Phoenix Metro)

Contractor / Mobile Role – Flexible Hours

One Source Healthcare is Arizona’s leading provider of mobile optometry and podiatry services in nursing homes,

group homes, and skilled nursing facilities. We’re expanding our telehealth program and are seeking a Certified

Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) to perform on-site patient testing and imaging that supports remote optometric

care.

In this role, you’ll work independently in the field—gathering clinical data, conducting standard pre-tests, and using

portable diagnostic equipment to capture high-quality images for review by our licensed Optometrists. You will be

the eyes and hands on-site for our telehealth exams, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and patient comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel to scheduled facilities with mobile equipment

Perform thorough patient intake and medical history collection

Administer visual acuity testing, intraocular pressure checks, pupil evaluation, etc.

Operate portable retinal cameras, auto-refractors, etc.

Capture retinal and anterior segment images and upload securely for provider review

Maintain patient records and assist with EMR documentation

Follow infection control and equipment maintenance protocols

Communicate professionally with care facility staff and remote optometrists

Required Qualifications:

Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) through JCAHPO

1–2 years of relevant clinical experience (Telehealth or mobile care preferred)

Excellent bedside manner with elderly or cognitively impaired patients

Comfortable working independently in non-traditional settings

Basic technology skills: tablets, EMR, cloud uploads, digital camera operation

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to lift/transport equipment (25 lbs)

Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or higher

Familiarity with tele-optometry workflows or portable diagnostic tools

Spanish or bilingual ability a plus

Compensation:

Contract/per patient model with pay per completed encounter

Training on portable equipment and telehealth protocols included

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your skills into a cutting-edge care model and make a difference in

underserved communities. If you’re reliable, professional, and excited about blending hands-on clinical work with

telehealth, we’d love to hear from you.
