DJ Trivia is looking for a Trivia Host to join our team in Pima County, covering all of Tucson and surrounding areas. This person will be responsible for facilitating one or more 2 hour DJ Trivia and/or DJ Bingo nights on a weekly basis at a venue. We will strive to align your venue assignments to your area of residence. Our current needs include hosts for the Northwest (including Marana, Oro Valley), Downtown, Midtown, and Catalina.
We are looking for candidates who are responsible, self-motivated, punctual, and personable. Those who can successfully multitask, promote on social media, and handle a crowd are ideal. If you love Trivia, the pursuit of knowledge, or learning new things, you’re our kind of people!
This is a part time job to supplement your primary income. This is a way to make a few bucks and meet people while having fun. Who ever said you can't make money and have fun has never hosted DJ Trivia!
Responsibilities and Duties:
Communication - Read trivia questions and answers clearly and effectively. Provide rules to Trivia teams. Notify teams of any relevant announcements.
Performance - Interact and build a relationship with Trivia teams.
Multitasking - Keep score in the provided software scoresheet. Play music in-between questions using provided equipment. Answer questions from Trivia teams.
Preparation - Test audio equipment ahead of time to ensure functionality.
Preparation - Manage and set up audio and video equipment (provided by the company along with instructions and training).
Troubleshooting - Handle potential technical glitches with grace and professionalism. Contact manager for assistance with more difficult problems.
Requirements:
Able to ENGAGE professionally and positively with trivia players and make them feel valued
Reliable transportation and the ability to commute a reasonable distance
Good basic PC skills and reliable access to a high speed internet connection
Excellent verbal reading and communication skills
Time-management skills
Evening availability
Shows are generally Sunday through Thursday in the evening, with most shows starting at 6 or 7 pm.
One show a week is required, but we prefer that you are able to host more if you can.
Prior performance or hosting experience is preferred, but not required
