Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job Description:Resource Industries Sales, Services, and Technology (RISST) has an opening for a Sales and Operations Planning Manager position. You will lead the Resource Industries (RI) aftermarket Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, including close collaboration with Sales regions, Parts Distribution, Finance Services, Product & Component Supply Chain, and Supplier/Procurement teams to deliver conforming Sales and Operations Plans for RI Aftermarket Services. Prepares and delivers S&OP Demand & Supply recommendations and reviews with enterprise business partners including senior leadership.What you will do:Develop and execute RI aftermarket S&OP process standards, aligned with overall RI segment-level S&OP processes.Ensure end-to-end aftermarket value chain alignment of demand, inventory, and supply.Achieve high conformance levels between S&OP forecast and actual demand.Develops and applies business cycle management standards to anticipate demand and supply trends.Responsible for completing an effective RI level S&OP process each month, including reviewing parts performance, and supply performance and recommending RI inputs to stocking levels in the end-to-end supply chain.Lead projects to implement and improve S&OP process standards across aftermarket Demand and Supply & other relevant processes.Provide input and work closely with the component product groups, the site operations & supply chain organizations, and the aftermarket parts distribution organization, to support the RI Services growth strategy including target setting and matching supply with demand.Drive orders, supply, and inventory conformance targets and key KPI’s for RI aftermarket services. Develop process inputs and business visibility measures to effectively manage business via effective cycle management techniques.Identifies and root-causes non-conformances and works with other supply chain functional areas on continuous improvement efforts leveraging Lean processes.Collaborate and communicate across partner functions and divisions to effectively develop & deploy end-to-end strategic supply chain initiatives, which may include implementing changes to component sourcing, distribution channels, manufacturing & assembly sourcing globally.Provide leadership, coaching, focus, motivation, and encouragement to direct reports.Support supply chain team efforts to implement transformational supply chain sourcing & footprint initiatives.Support efforts to identify and resolve RI aftermarket supply chain constraints.What Skills you will have:Value Selling: 10 plus years of value chain experience in Product, Manufacturing, and/or Parts Distribution. Aftermarket parts experience related to either Order to Delivery planning processes, S&OP, or Project leadership roles.Customer Focus: Experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Inventory Management, Material Requirements Planning, Demand Management and/or Logistics.Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.Negotiating: Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.Problem Solving: Ability to analyze chain performance and identify innovative effective solutions to drive supply chain transformational changes.Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.Top Candidates will also have:Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Logistics ManagementExperience in Resource Industries products and value chains.Experience in aftermarket supply chain and parts distribution: Inventory/supply, dealer order management and supply management.Experience with mining industry parts & product support. Such as: mining machines rebuild cycles and processes, demand planning, lumpy demand, slow moving inventories, factory ordered parts.Mining product and/or manufacturing experience is an asset: understand specific mining supply/product issues and be able to shape supply performance improvements.Additional Information:The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL, Morton, IL, or Tucson, AZ.Domestic relocation assistance is available.This position may require 25 % travel.Sponsorship is not available.This posting will close at midnight on June 2nd, 2024.What you will get:Our goal at Caterpillar is for you to have a rewarding career.
