Our client,
a major travel financial services company, is looking to hire a Big Data Developer to join their team based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is remote to start but client is looking for local candidates or candidates available to work MST hours. This opening is a 5-month long contract position, with the opportunity for extension or conversionThis Big Data Developer will be responsible for a cloud migration project. The ideal person for this position will have hands on working experience on Pig, Hive, Sqoop, Spark, Python, and /or Shell scripting.Responsibilities- Write pyspark & hive code to build use cases
- Design solutions and troubleshoot production issues
- Write and execute test cases
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 3-5 years of experience in big data space
- A strong understanding and knowledge of Hadoop concepts and technology
- Should have experience with Apache Oozie scheduling
- Should be familiar with Agile Methodology
- Should have strong hold on SQL queries
- Should be aware of using Git repo and respective commands
- Competitive Pay: Up to $56/hour, DOE
- Contract Duration: 5 month contract
