Apply Today!      Where You Will Work   In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.  What You Will Do

Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.

May collect samples which could include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations

Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.

Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.

Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment

Perform other duties as required

What You Bring To Freeport

Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Proficient in MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets, reports and other documentation

SX/EW and Leaching experience

Mobile equipment experience

Overhead crane experience

Experience with mathematic and/or numbers based tasks

Experience with chemical sample preparation and/or analysis

Ability to follow detailed, technical instructions

Experience with tedious or repetitive motions or tasks

Strong organizational and documentation skills

Ability and willingness to travel to mine sites with occasional overnight stay

Experience working in an ISO 9001/EMS 14001/OHSAS 18001 environment

What We Offer You  The estimated pay range for this role is currently  $20.00 - $27.00/hour . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
