We encourage you to take the time to explore the opportunity to advance your career at Freeport-McMoRan.DescriptionThe primary purpose of this position is to provide strategic oversight of all site land and water supply issues and provide assistance to site business units in addressing these matters, in order to secure sufficient water resources to support operations and protect shareholder value.

Direct and assist staff in providing oversight assistance and strategic planning to business units with water supply and water rights issues, to ensure access to water supplies to support operations.

Manage and assist outside legal counsel working on water rights agreements and settlements in order to minimize legal expense and provide improved security for water supplies for business units, to support operations and protect shareholder value.

Direct and assist staff in providing expertise in the areas of hydrogeology, water regulations, permitting, agency rule making processes, project budgets and forecasts, and water legislation as a matter of information and in response to inquiries from business units, in order to provide reliable customer assistance in support of operations.

Direct and assist staff in developing and tracking Key Performance Indicators for land holdings, water supply and water rights issues, in order to properly define, manage and monitor the availability of land and water resources to support operations and protect shareholder value.

Direct and assist staff in real estate matters, including commercial leasing, easements, purchasing and sales.

Direct staff in the development of comprehensive property budgets, management of on-site personnel (or lessees), mining claims, royalties, leases, easements, and any other property management or disposal/acquisition issues.

Direct and assist staff in securing legal advice related to business unit land and water issues, in order to provide a coordinated approach and minimize legal expense to support operations.

Track regulatory and rule-making land and water issues impacting the operation.

Manage financial assurance reporting for corporate land and water issues and respond to requests for input on financial and risk management audit issues, in order to support SEC compliance requirements to protect shareholder value.

Effectively coach and mentor department employees; Pro-actively support employee involvement and professional development; Counsel employees on performance standards; Complete and administer accurate and timely performance reviews.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Hydrogeology or similar technical field or equivalent experience, and eight (8) years experience in developing and managing water resources for industrial use.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or real estate and (8) years of managing land in a commercial or industrial environment.

Minimum of 3-5 years of management experience in natural resources with an emphasis on water supply/hydrology and land management.

Criteria/Conditions:

Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment.

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.
